Chaudière Falls – Former Powerhouse #3 Building

• Researched and developed an understanding of the site to create an analytical description of the site's historical significance, heritage value, and character-defining elements of the structure
• Utilized the different features of a Nikon D300 camera such as its light sensitivity and aperture toassess the site’s context, massing, elevations, and key elements
• Conducted photogrammetry with the aid of a total station, GPS, and compilation of 3D pointclouds in Context Capture software to generate 3D ortho-corrected images
• Captured panoramic photos taken with an Insta 360 camera to create a virtual user-friendly 3Dtour Kuula software that provides an active experience of Chaudière falls and the structure

Construction Journal Project

• Completed weekly visits to the currently undergoing SOHO Champagne 2 high-rise, took relevantphotos, and made weekly detail drawings of various construction procedures, equipment, andmaterials in use purposely to record the progress the site underwent
• Edited the construction photos taken in Adobe Photoshop 2022 by correcting the exposure whileachieving perfectly white and color balance, warmth, and alignment of the images to achieve and portray the best possible images
• Compiled taken photos of relevant activities, detailed drawings, and multiple constructionprocedures ranging from formwork for concrete floor slab to placement of steel frame studs using Adobe InDesign 2022 to neatly format the construction journal on the high-rise building

Building Structure and Envelope Designer/Consultant Sept 2021 – Dec 2021

Coach House Building Project

• Designed the structural pattern of a 600m2 coach house in AutoCAD 2021 placing columns, andone-way and two-way concrete slabs in their respective spaces to ensure a stable structure
• Performed research on green roof components and requirements consisting of roof decking,drainage barrier, insulation, and vegetation that aided in the design of the coach house’s roof
• Delivered a presentation with group members illustrating how heat was transmitted through thedesigned envelope section detail using thermal calculations performed to predict possible choices of building materials

Engineering and society now place a high priority on sustainability. The demand for engineers with knowledge of the closely related fields of heritage conservation and sustainable building design is on the rise. I am currently in my 3rd year in the t he Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering programm at Carleton University.

It teaches students how to design and renovate buildings with sustainability as their overarching goal while still respecting their architectural significance and history. Students are taught to take into account energy demand, building material life cycles, environmental impacts, and the efficient reuse and preservation of existing structures. Students in the programme collaborate closely with the architecture students at Carleton.
