I’ve received additional training in specialized areas, including eating disorders, couples counselling (The Gottman Method Levels 1 and 2), ADHD, emotion-focused therapy, and suicide prevention.
I currently work with individuals aged 13 and above, as well as couples, offering support in areas such as addiction, mood disorders (e.g. depression and anxiety), emotion dysregulation, grief and loss, self-esteem, stress management, and marital/relationship issues. Additionally, my work extends to providing support and guidance to those with loved ones living with mood or personality disorders.
I employ a dynamic range of evidence-based therapies, tailoring my approach to the unique needs of each client. My toolkit includes taking a Person- Centered approach, in addition to Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), The Gottman
Method, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
My professional experience includes working at several different private practices, as well as research at the university level. More recently, I have had the privilege of publishing articles, largely in relation to advocating for women's health.
I hold an undergraduate degree from York University, where I pursued a double major in Kinesiology and Health Science and Psychology, which provided me with a multidimensional understanding of human well-being and laid the groundwork for my future endeavors in the realm of counselling psychology. Following the pursuit of my Bachelor’s degree, I went on to complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, from Yorkville University.
