I am of Denesuline heritage from Fort Chipewyan, raised in Uranium City, Saskatchewan. Moved to Fort McMurray in 1981 then headed down south near Lethbridge, Alberta (Treaty 7 Territory) attended the collage then moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I went to Saskatchewan Federated College (SIFC). I moved back to Fort McMurray in 2013 until present. I have worked in various agency and government agencies in Alberta, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Yukon since my convocation Bachelor of Indian Social Work in 1997.
I have been employed with Athabasca Tribal Council since 2013 until now. I worked as Child intervention & Prevention Social Worker. I am able to understand Dene Language and able to communicate slightly due to Loss of language/cultural interference when growing up. I lived in Uranium City, Saskatchewan and went in regular school system. I have not been in residential school, however, my mother was at Fort Chipewyan Residential School. My mother never talked about her experience, but reiterated that she had only peeled potatoes a lot while her stay at Fort Chipewyan.
I am able to utilize the computer like Microsoft, Word and a bit of Excel. I am able to get into government system that used for client information. I enjoy travelling and able to work independently.
