Jason Liang

I am a recently graduating student of Concordia with I bachelor's in Computer science with a GPA of 4.0/4.3. I have taken classes in data analytics, big data, machine learning and information security. Previously I have also obtained a Master's in Biochemistry, but determined that research was not for me.

I have had 3 internships in computer science (all 4 month internship). First, was as a QA at Genetec, where I developed a pipeline with Microsoft Azure to automatically run tests using Power Shell scripts on their software installer. At Matrox, I was a software developer, where I worked on a dotnet (C#) testing program which verified the REST API response codes to certain calls.

Lastly I worked as a data analyst at my internship at CCCS (Centre for Climate Change Services) at Environment Canada, where I made a python app which displayed Extra Tropical Cyclone data from netcdf files. I also was accustomed to using HPC to fetch and process data jobs. From all my internships, I am used to working in bilingual teams, at Matrox and Genetec an Agile approach was used, whereas at the CCCS we had weekly meetings instead.

I also have experience in teamwork/independent work from my masters and post graduate work as a research assistant.

I graduated from Concordia University (May 2024), 4.0/4.3 GPA (dean's list) with a bachelor's in Computer Science. I have taken classes in databases, data analytics, big data, machine learning/AI, and software information security. I am familiar with coding in Java, Python, C++, C# and have some experience in using Clojure and Erlang. I also have experience in reading scientific journals from my Master's in Biochemistry from McGill university.
