Jason Shackell

I have a diverse background in structural construction through my work in the welding trade and project coordination. I understand how building materials are fabricated and constructed.

I’m skilled at using AutoCad through my education and recent work activities creating and changing engineering and construction drawings. I have worked closely with engineers and project managers in making required changes to drawings.

I have extensive experience fabricating and welding structural metals. I continue to carry various up-to-date welding tickets. I have observed tests on welded surfaces to determine weld quality and conformance to industry standards. I have experience with layouts, positioning, and securing parts according to drawings and specifications. I am skilled in all cutting and welding operations as well as a skilled Fitter.

I pride myself in safety, precision, production, quality, and dedication to my employer. I would like to mention that safety is my number one priority while keeping quality and production at the front of my mind. I take pride in knowing I contribute to a safe and productive work environment and I have received recognition based on this. I have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

I am currently enrolled in SAIT’s AutoCAD Certification program. I will complete the program and receive my certification by the end of March 2025.

I am an Alberta Journeyman with an Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement in welding from SAIT in 2012.
