I am a recent Graduate from Durham College for Mechanical Engineering Non-Destructive Evaluation. I have 812 hours in MPI level 2, 858 hours in UT level 1, and 54 hours in LPI from working at the Toronto Transit Commission. I plan on challenging them this year. I am looking for a position where I will gain more experience working in the field and can utilize non-destructive methods.
I spent one year working as an NDT Technician Trainee on night shifts with the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission), where I acquired many hours of experience in UT2, MP2 and fewer hours in PT2. My main tasks were to calibrate the NDT equipment, enter data and records into the system, and test/inspect welds, mild steel, and manganese; however, I did many different tasks depending on the day.
I recently graduated from Durham College’s Mechanical Engineering Non-Destructive Evaluation Technician program. At school, we learned many inspection methods and character flaws that can occur in many materials, such as steel, aluminum, concrete, etc. We also learned how to deal with customers and clients once an issue has been discovered to ensure that they understand the severity of the problem professionally.
