Justin Keeler

I am 38, married and have 3 children. We call kamloops BC home but are looking to move to some farm land outside of Calgary. I was born and raised in Terrace bc where I started out my welding career. I am no stranger to travel as I have worked all over BC and Alberta over my career. Looking for the work life balance and freedom to live where I want associated with a camp job, look forward to working with you in the future.

Most recent I have been a journeyman welder for coming on 10 years at the highland valley copper in Logan lake BC. I’ve been apart of a lot of major projects as well as rebuilds on various heavy mining equipment, highlighted in my resume. A supervisor role is something I have also been apart of at highland, filling in and being apart of the management team for the weld shop.

In this role I have been in charge of up to 30 welders with great success in safety and productivity. I arrange daily welding task as well as plan and order for our larger rebuild/fabrication projects. Among the welders I also was in charge of 3 machinists, which I coordinated with the mechanical division to complete projects in a safe and timely manner.

Safety is an important aspect of the industry we are in so I have also been apart of an emergency response team for 3 years, providing my fellow employees with quick responses to medical or mechanical emergencies. Before highland valley I have had various experience across the oil/forest and mining industries, some of which is noted on my resume. Welding is not the only thing I’ve been successful at, I also hold a class 1 license and have a safe and clean driving record.

Operating machinery/cranes are also something I can contribute to a dynamic team.

I graduated from Caledonia in terrace bc where I was introduced to the Ace-it welding program in grade 12. After completing this program I enrolled in a level c welding program at the Northwest community college also in terrace bc. I moved around Alberta and bc completing my apprenticeship hours and returning to terrace bc to complete my level B/A at NWCC.

I then obtained my journeyman ticket and Interprovincial red seal. I also hold a level a pressure classification. While I was welding I was fortunate to work for some pretty dynamic company’s and was able to obtain my class1 license.

I have been apart of many training opportunities over the years, anything from the basic safety tickets to advanced rigging courses.
