I would like to take this opportunity to express my strong interest in pursuing the posted job opening. I am a Community Paramedic and Primary Care Paramedic with the Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services. The past 5 years in this role has provided me a very strong foundation in working alongside various medical professionals in both an in-person and digital health capacity.
I have displayed my ability in applying a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience to navigate difficult situations and communicate and perform in a productive manner. I believe I can be a strong asset to the Ontario Health team with my effective interpersonal skills, and my vast experience in multi-stakeholder healthcare environments.
My experience as a Community Paramedic has allowed me to establish a strong skill set working in a digital health capacity. On a daily basis I am communicating with hospitals, physicians, nurses and other medical health professionals using multiple different platforms. As the Community Paramedic Program is a recent undertaking within our Region, I have had the opportunity to play a vital role in the development of the program, while also taking on responsibility in large projects.
Further, I have excelled in implementing new strategies, generated important professional relationships, and assisted in the transition of how a Paramedic can supplement gaps within our region’s healthcare system. I am very comfortable working in a fast paced environment in which I have to constantly adapt to and re-prioritize the needs of all parties involved through quick and decisive decision making. In addition, I have a Primary Care Paramedic Diploma from Conestoga College.
Through this schooling I developed a strong understanding of Healthcare in Ontario which has helped me to thrive in my role as a Paramedic. I also have an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph. Further, I am a certified Change Management Specialist and have my CAPM Certification.
I have a passion for improving my skillset with a strong focus on ensuring that my approach is always customer centered. I believe that my professional goals parallel the vision of the Ontario Health Team and that I could be an invaluable member of the team. Thank you for considering my application.
