My personal experience and academic qualifications are designated as Intervenor for Deafblind Persons, Educational Assistant and Family Support and Guidance Facilitator over the last 10 years.
My passion is education and communication for all people of all abilities and I look forward to bringing my skillset and love of education and communication into my next role.
In my most recent role as an educational assistant, I have worked with students with varying communication needs, levels of autism, behavioural challenges, and varying levels of need while maintaining communication within the team and specialists.
I also have experience working with individuals with eye gaze technology, communicator 5, snap core first, communication boards, PECS and TOBII devices as well as have completed many trainings related to the aforementioned.
I have additionally worked directly with individuals both one on one and in group settings assisting them with both life skills and educational development. I look forward to bringing my skills to the school setting, continuing to support people with exceptionalities, their individualized communication methods and assist with the transitions between schools, home and external supports.
My education qualifies me to work with individuals with varying levels of exceptionalities. I also hold many certifications specific to communication. Of these certifications, I would like to draw attention to my sign language, braille, and other non-verbal communication qualifications that have allowed me to assist individuals whose exceptionalities lay within their communication needs and to develop and maintain individualized communication systems and social interactions for those individuals.
