I'm a full stack developer, previously working with PostgreSQL and PHP, now developing with Node.js, Tailwind CSS, MongoDB, and Svelte. Eight years of experience with ecommerce has given me a strong understanding of UX principles, performance optimization, responsive design and testing, SEO, and accessibility.

I have been interested in computers and coding since I attended a class on BASIC programming at my local library when I was 10 years old. I’ve drifted away from programming from time to time but I always find myself coming back to it.

I studied some Java and C++ during high school and started making websites in my early 20s. This eventually turned into a full e-commerce business that my husband and I ran for 8 years. During that time, I managed the server, implemented several different fully-custom designs, devised an SEO strategy, optimized page load times, and heavily customized the shopping cart.

Recently I began seriously developing my skills again, but I worked solo enough in the past and am now looking for an opportunity to grow in a collaborative environment.

I learn fast and enjoy the challenge of picking up something new, but most of all I love to tinker, love to build, and love to see an idea come to life.

I have 8 years of experience in web development due to running an ecommerce website. As I was responsible for all technical aspects of the business, my responsibilities extended beyond the normal duties of a web developer and encompassed a wide variety of technical and business concerns.

I studied Computer Science at St Mary's University, Halifax, but left my degree before completion when I got married.
