Lauren Zyskowski

I am a student at McMaster University, currently entering my fourth year of a Bachelors degree in Health, Aging and Society. I am passionate about end of life care and have been working on developing skills and gaining experiences in this sector of work. I volunteer at Margaret's Place Hospice with St Joseph's Villa in Dundas Ontario as a Friendly Visitor.

I also completed a student placement with Margaret's Place Hospice. I am currently in an internship with Carpenter Hospice located in Burlington Ontario where I work under volunteer services.

I hope to gain more experience in this healthcare sector in order to better interact with patients and clients in the future.

I have gained a wide variety of work and education related experiences in the Long term Care sector. I volunteer at Margaret's Place Hospice through St. Joseph's Villa where I act as a friendly visitor to residents. From January to April of 2024, I completed my Student field Experience Placement at Margaret's Place Hospice. In this role I worked with administrative work and legacy project development.

I am currently finishing an internship with Carpenter Hospice located in Burlington Ontario, where I work under Volunteer Services. In this role I maintain a positive and safe experience for both residents, their loved ones, and volunteers through supervision and guideline development.

I am entering my final year of a Bachelors degree with McMaster University in Health, Aging and Society.
