To whom it may concern,
My name is Lindsea Martin, and I am currently a DMIT student with a burning passion. I have been anxiously waiting to write this letter since the beginning of the program, and in a retrospective way, since childhood. I have been absolutely enamored with technology since my youth.
I remember loving customizing creative social media profiles using HTML and CSS as a child. I remember learning file structures from installing game mods as a small child. I have jailbroken every phone I’ve ever owned.
I also remember bricking my phone because I was too young to know what I was doing, but no one was going to stop me from trying.
I once thought teaching was my calling. But after spending three years in the classroom, I quickly realized it was not the career of a lifetime for me. Trying to integrate new and exciting technology into my lessons was the highlight of my experience. Spending hours looking at what new apps people were developing and tools teachers were experimenting with and trying to make my lessons as engaging as possible made me realize where my heart truly is.
I want to dedicate my life to code. I realize that I could not only create interesting and fun programs and games, but I could possibly change people’s lives for the better. After around a year of self-teaching web development in my spare time away from my teaching job, I ended up enrolled at NAIT.
I maintained a very high GPA, was on the Dean's Honor Roll, and helped other students along the way. I will personally guarantee that I am the most aggressive self-learner that will ever apply to your company. My hunger for tech knowledge is insatiable.
I have lived and breathed technology to its deepest levels since childhood, and I don’t ever intend to stop. It has made me into who I am today, and it continues to mold my future.
Thank you for your consideration,
I am just beginning my career as a developer and am looking forward to working toward building experience.
