I started Accounting at Humber College in summer 2019 and currently am in the last year. I have strong accounting basics, proficiency with Sage 50 and 300, experience in assisting with T1 personal income and small business income and T4 statement of remuneration paid, experience with accounts receivable and payable, and bank reconciliation. I have bookkeeping experience with a private company in downtown North York. Working with them provided me with much experience in bookkeeping as well as processing documents, receipts, invoices.

For personal skills, I am willing to communicate with the team and precise with numbers. I am also good at organizing files and documents.

Working in different factories, I have gained interesting experiences about safety guidelines while being near large-sized equipment and manufacturing systems. I also got to observe with my own eyes how a production process works. My responsibilities were:

• Packaging finished products.
• Complying to work safety and food safety guidelines.
• Working with co-workers while on the production line
• Labelling packaged products

• Preparing sauces, toppings, and salad for the line

This is the first contract co-op opportunity that was provided by my school. I have gained more knowledge about tax filing. It was also a chance to practice my written communication skills. My responsibilities were:

• Assisting customers on doing small business and personal tax on an online forum setting
• Attaching Q&A link in every answer to each customer’s question
• Communicating with the supervisor about how to respond to customers’ questions correctly and efficiently.
• Doing online research about tax filing on the Canadian government website

Housekeeper, Sheraton Hotel

I am currently working part-time at Sheraton Hotel as a housekeeper on the weekend. Housekeeping plays an important role in meeting guests’ expectation and providing them with a pleasant experience. My responsibilities were:

• Performing cleaning duties for each guest room assigned: vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bathroom.
• Making the bed in each guest room
• Complying to company’s policies and safety guidelines
• Putting supplies for each hotel room
• Folding towels nicely for good presentation

I found this job through a job posting posted on school website by my placement professor. I was handling most of the company’s invoicing, billing and collection. This job provided me with lots of proficiency in Sage Accpac, an accounting software like QuickBooks that allows small to medium-sized companies to record sales, expenses and payroll, and print financial statements. My responsibilities were:

• Processing and managing day-to-day accounting functions and practices.
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Processing daily transactions, expenses and managing invoices
• Updating and maintaining accounting database
• Collecting and entering data in databases and maintaining accurate records
