Maria Mishchenko

I am a recent UBC graduate of the Speech Sciences and French programs. I am very interested in special education and multilingualism, and have previously worked as an educational clinician where I provided literacy intervention to clients with learning difficulties. I have extensive ESL and French-language teaching experience as well as clinical experience with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists, and have also contributed to research projects centred on bilingualism and language acquisition.

• Instruct one-to-one remediation programs by applying phonics and Dual-Coding theory to enhance reading, comprehension and information recall

• Co-facilitated pediatric social-skills intervention alongside licensed SLPs and targeted conversation maintenance, non-verbal cues and conflict resolution
