Mary Ellen Roy

I am currently working as a long term occasional teacher until the end of June 2023. I have worked as a teacher for the past 12 years and am looking for a part time job to pass the time during the summer months. Previous to teaching, I worked in a variety of retail positions including as a florist, a stock clerk, a waitress and a cashier. I enjoy working with others and I consider myself a very social person who enjoys volunteering and helping where I can. I am a member of the local Royal Canadian Legion Branch and I presently hold the executive position of Treasurer at our branch. I have always worked at jobs that require a level of professionalism and working with the public.

I have extensive experience working with the public and as part of a team. As an educator for over 12 years, I possess excellent organizational skills that I believe would be an asset to this position. As well, I have experience working with a point of sale system and I also possess many years (20+) in customer service.

My most recent education was when I completed my professional year to become a teacher in 2011 at Lakehead University. Additionally, I have my Smart Serve qualifications, which will be recertified this month.
