I am a computer science and finance student at the University of Waterloo, interested in the intersection of computer science with finance. Although I am currently on a study term, I work part-time for local companies in the GTA, providing them with website development services. Most recently, I collaborated with Kantor Currency Exchange, a firm based in Toronto, to improve their plain HTML/CSS site and make it more interactive using JavaScript, Python and SQL.
I am a co-op student with 4 month study terms followed by 4 month work terms. I am currently looking for a Spring 2023 co-op job from April to August 2023. While on my study terms, I work on projects that I am passionate about.
For example, I organized a group of fellow students from university in order to collaborate on a project we believed in. We created UniConnect, a web application that allowed students across campus to connect with their study groups in real time without having to find an optimal location that works for everybody-- the website did the job for them. Apart from my personal projects and interests, I recently began freelancing and have been hired by a prominent small business in the GTA to do web development work in order to update their website.
I have completed high school with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, having achieved a score of 41 out of 45 points. Subsequently, having been accepted to all of the Canadian universities I applied to, I ultimately chose Waterloo to pursue a double major in their renowned School of Computer Science, as well as in Finance. I chose this unique combination of majors in order to diversify my professional skillset and nurture my interest in the intersection of the two fields, namely blockchain technology.
