My name is (Mr.) Merritt Fallis, and I am very interested in any opening currently available for a Music Teacher, Band Director, Choir Director, or Drama Teacher with your school. I am a Canadian citizen (with dual citizenship in the United States), and I have been teaching music for over 30 years. My experience has been in vocal and instrumental music (band) in public and private schools in eight countries.
I’ve taught in the United States (Arizona and Washington), Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Jordan. Seven of those schools are highly-regarded private International schools, such as Shanghai American School (China), American Community School (Jordan), British International School (Vietnam), Carol Morgan School (Dominican Republic), UCSI International School (Malaysia), Singapore International School (Vietnam), and American School Foundation (Mexico City). I hold a valid Arizona teaching certificate, #600289449, ref.# 317-00337, with an expiration date of June 30, 2026 (renewable at that time).

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education (vocal and instrumental/band), as well as a Master’s degree in Secondary Education. I have a U.S. teaching certificate, valid for Music, K-12. In addition to teaching, I am also a performer, having been a member of the Danang Symphony Orchestra in Da Nang, Vietnam and the Phoenix Metro Pops Orchestra in Phoenix, Arizona.
I also served as the assistant conductor of the Metro Pops Orchestra for three years. While at Shanghai American School, I was selected as ‘Teacher of the Year’, which was indeed an honor, as that is a huge school, with many excellent teachers. I was also named 'Teacher of the Year' at Esperero Canyon Middle School in Tucson, Arizona.
