Raised in Canada, I moved to Afghanistan in 2005 and lived there for 15 years before I returned to Toronto. I am the founder of S4S, a mentorship program for women and girls in marginalized communities of Afghanistan. I not only speak Dari, Pashto and English ; I also have travelled throughout most of Afghanistan. I am well versed in the nuanced cultures of Afghanistan, and provide insights valuable to those working with newcomers and the newcomers themselves. I am an advocate, public speaker and author. I've supported settlement agencies through information sessions in the US and Europe, and volunteered language suppport at Costi programs. My workshops are developed with Mary Sharif, who has 34+ years of experience working with newcomers at Catholic Cross Cultural Services. Relevant information for all involved in this delicate process, with a compassion based approach.
