WHO ran a 30 country observational study on oxygen requirements and respiratory support for COVID-19 patients in low and middle income countries. The program drew more than 175 expressions of interest, from which 40 principal investigators across 30 countries were selected. Findings were published in BMJ Open (2023) and The Lancet Global Health (2026).
