Dear Sir / Madam,
I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Data Analytics for business and more than 5 years of experience working as a database administrator and developer specializing in Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 databases. During my support for multiple critical and complex projects, I worked on various aspects of database administration including administering databases, managing data security, performance tuning, database availability, designing ER diagrams, writing complex queries, triggers, functions, and stored procedures, and generating analytical reports. I am currently working as a Database coordinator intern at Algoma University.
In my current role, I am working to manage databases, administer databases, secure databases, analyze data, and provide consultation on a new implementation of database projects. Dealing with databases throughout my 5 years of career taught me very important and useful aspects of databases like different ways in which data can be analyzed, generating complex reports, taking backups of data to maintain copies of it in case we need to restore it, and much more. Moreover, all these skills required huge research to hone and master them.
Mostly I worked with government entities in Afghanistan, and they had data in varied formats.
Apart from technical skills, I am also responsible for crucial administrative tasks such as scheduling and attending meetings with different departments and transcribing minutes, ensuring database vulnerabilities and fixes are analyzed and patched.
I am confident that I will be an asset to your organization because I understand the care and diligence needed when working with large confidential data sets. I do understand the importance of getting everything documented for team members to cope with. I worked with databases critical and confidential for entire nations and sizes ranging from 300 GBs to 500 GBs.
I enjoy being challenged and engaging with the tasks that require me to work outside my comfort and knowledge set, as continuing to learn is important to me and the success of your organization.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you about the opportunity.
Yours faithfully,
Algoma University, June 2022 – To date
