My name is Nathan, and I am a first year Civil Engineering Master's student at the University of Ottawa. I have experience using design software such as Autocad, Revit, SAP-2000, S-bridge. I have gained this experience through courses I took during my undergraduate degree and working for the Net-zero tiny house club at the University of Ottawa, where I served as the structural design lead.
I am passionate about structural engineering and environmental sustainability, and I am eager to contribute to projects that promote innovative and resilient infrastructure.
I’ve worked as both a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ottawa and a Coring Assistant, both jobs equipped me with valuable skills relevant to the Civil Engineering field.
As a Teaching Assistant, I developed strong public speaking skills while working closely with students to help them understand engineering concepts. This role gave me experience explaining technical information clearly and working through problems collaboratively.
As a Coring Assistant, I worked on a variety of construction sites, from small residential buildings to large high-rise structures. This job gave me firsthand experience with job site operations, safety requirements, and the day-to-day realities of construction work.
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa, where I focused primarily on structural engineering through my coursework.
I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa, once again emphasizing structural engineering. My thesis research is focused on bridge monitoring, allowing me to deepen my understanding of structural performance and long-term infrastructure resilience.
