I try to be a Sign of Hope in the life of newcomers as the teacher role meets in me, while I teach English speaking and listening skills to diverse drop-in students - newcomers, fathers, mothers, grandparents refugees, students, citizens, and people who just smile and have to be lovingly drawn into a conversation. My work includes active listening, speaking, reading, writing, and addressing the language needs of newcomers in Calgary.
Having worked for more than 9 years in the language training field as an ESL Instructor, Teacher Trainer, Employment Instructor, and Board-Director for various institutions in Saskatchewan Intercultural Association, University of Saskatchewan, and TESL Saskatchewan, I have extensive experience that fulfills the qualifications you are seeking to find in an ESL Instructor.
I use my public speaking and classroom management skills to give a chance to each student to carry on short conversations in English with their classmates. This helps them share, discuss, empathize, seek strength, and bond.
I must have helped more than 900 newcomers in finally feel special as they mastered introducing themselves in English, un-self-consciously.
