I'm a retired First Nation RCMP Staff Sergeant with over 30 years of experience. I have served in Bella Bella, BC and Cape Breton Island, NS, both as Detachment Commander. I also served at RCMP National Head Quarters for several years at National Aboriginal Policing Services (NAPS), RCMP's Business Line & Planning (Commissioner's Floor).
My roles and responsibilities as a Detachment Commander was to provide 100% dedicated policing to their respective community. I have been a firm believe nothing changes without discipline, decisiveness.
Commander - Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Enoch Cree Nation - Eskasoni, Nova Scotia

Responsible for direct oversight and supervision of all Aboriginal policing services within the Eskasoni Mi'Kmaq community, which includes; Financial Management of $550K Budget, Enforcement, Crime prevention, Road Safety, Innovative initiatives, Capacity Building, Cultural Training, Mentorship and Development of all Employees, Conflict Resolution concerning Aboriginal communities, Government, Industry and Non-Indigenous peoples. Build healthy working sustainable partnerships, both internally and externally such as Aboriginal Policing Services (National/Provincial), Mi'Kmaq Legal Support Services, Cape Breton Regional Police Service, Elders, Child Family Service Agencies, Educational authorities, Vested Stakeholders, Chiefs and Councils.

Current member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) at RCMP Stony Plain / Spruce Grove and Enoch Detachment, with the role and responsibility of oversight of operational direction and supervision of one of the busiest RCMP Detachments in Alberta, with over 108 RCMP and Public Servant Employees, providing a quality policing service to over 82,000 community members. Responsible for direct oversight and supervision of all Aboriginal policing services within our detachment area, which include Enforcement, Crime prevention, traffic and road safety, innovative initiatives, capacity building, cultural training, mentorship and development of employees, conflict resolution between Aboriginal communities, Government, Industry and Non-Indigenous peoples. Build healthy working sustainable partnerships, both internally and externally such as Aboriginal Policing Services (National/Provincial), River Cree Casino, Edmonton Police Service, Elders, Child Family Service Agencies, Educational authorities, Vested Stakeholders, Chiefs and Councils.

RCMP Officer in charge of the Bella Bella RCMP Detachment, with the fiscal responsibility and supervision of policing services on the West coast of British Columbia, with an area of over 10, 000 square miles and several isolated Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities. This experience provided me with the opportunity to build and sustain positive working relationships with communities, vested stakeholders through positive communication, commitment and compassion.
