Canadian, he/him, native English. Graduate of Queen's University's GDipICL program and have completed the EPE, results pending.
Former teacher and professor in Canada and abroad before moving back to Canada to settle down with my future spouse. I pivoted my career to cyber security and ethical hacking and worked for various private and public employers and trained Canadian Armed Forces in cyber operations. During this time I witnessed first hand the personal and financial difficulties my wife endured while trying to immigrate. The abuse she suffered from her sponsor/employer, coupled with the years of effort involved in bringing her son to Canada after she was established, convinced me to pivot my career one last time so I can help families and workers to fulfill their dreams in Canada.
I am a highly competent writer and legal researcher and I possess advanced communications skills from my years as an English teacher abroad. I possess a wide and highly technical expertise with Windows and Linux operating systems as well as networking protocols. I am aware of and sensitive toward differences in cultures, genders, sexual identities and orientations, sexual characteristics, traumas and neurodivergence. I am a highly skilled and adaptive interviewer, drawing on my experience both in education as well as investigation.
Teacher, tutor and professor for four years. Taught at Shenyang Aerospace University in Shenyang, Liaoning, China. Later worked as Head Teacher for private academies in South Korea where I taught classes, designed curricula and liaised between staff and management.
Cyber security professional for eight years. Spent two years as an investigator and analyst in a Security Operations Center where my top achievement was detecting an attack from Moscow on a major American news outlet and responded in time to prevent catastrophic harm. Then contracted with Public Safety Canada for several years before becoming the instructor and curricula developer for Cyber Operations to the Canadian Armed Forces.
