Nico Vandolder

Aspiring computer science professional seeking to apply my computer science and math strengths in search of a meaningful career. I find meaning in relationship-building with customers and co-workers, and want to add my strategic and analytical capacity to solve problems and achieve success. I have a proven ability to connect with clients, teammates, and students through my work, hobbies and volunteering. I have a positive attitude, genuinely care about people, and am a quick learner.

I have diverse work experience spanning customer service, operations, and hospitality. Most recently, I worked as a cashier where I handled transactions, assisted customers, and maintained product knowledge. Before that, I was a Parks Operator under BC Parks, ensuring campground operations ran smoothly through maintenance and customer interactions.

Additionally, I worked as a bartender, where I developed strong communication skills while providing high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. My roles have strengthened my teamwork, attention to detail, and ability to quickly adapt to new challenges. I have yet to break into the computing world, but am looking forward to doing so!

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, with an expected graduation in 2027. My coursework has provided a strong foundation in programming, software development, and problem-solving. Through these courses, I have gained hands-on experience in Java, SQL, HTML, XML, JavaScript, data structures, relational database design, and computer architecture.
