With over a decade of experience working in post production, Nicole Sison has crafted her reel into a mixture of film, commercial and music visuals from a range of international clients. Trained in video editorial by leaders in Toronto advertising she brings an intense gaze, inquisitive drive, and masterful hand to the storytelling process. She has learned to work collaboratively with directors, producers, writers, musicians, and other editors to create pieces that engage and entertain audiences.
Her documentary film resume has earned her gala presentations in festivals such as TIFF, VIFF, and Zanzibar.
Her short film series with the UN “A Piece of Me” picked up a Webby Award in 2020 and toured as an exhibit in Toronto, London and NYC.
She was on the editorial team for a season of The Stand Up Show with BellMedia and Crave, and helps edit sports segments for TSN’s The Shift, further extending her resume into long format. Last year her film with the NBA entitled “Shorty” premiered at TIFF 2021.She recently joined the post team for Amazon Prime helping build trailers for their original series and films.
Her short film, She Keeps Me, won best Canadian Short in 2020 at the PendanceFilm Festival. Her Debut feature When Morning Comes did veru well at TIFF and received the David Cronenberg Gilmor Award.Following that, the short film Scaring Women At Night won the Iris Prize in the UK the following year.
One of her latest short films, The Future AboveUs,premiered at Cannes 2023.
Eager to keep telling authentic narratives she is currently cutting several films across Africa, the Caribbean and North America.
I have an extensive Video Editorial resume with over 15 years of ad experience.
I am proficient in Premiere, Da Vinci Resolve, After Effects and the AVID with extensive IT skills and experience in assembling edits, and prepping fine cuts for transfer and online.
I am well versed in the editorial work flow from pre production to delivery and have several years of experience on set and in studio for broadcast television and film.
Attended Toronto Film School at the CBC Building in Toronto, Canada.
