Nix Elliott Rivera

Hello! I'm Nix, a queer artist, coffee enthusiast, and an experienced specialty barista and coffee roaster. It is a goal of mine to find a place I can bring my enjoyment and care into crafting coffee for others.

I grew up frequenting cafés as somewhere to relax and exist, so I know the importance of the third space well, and really love contributing to that home away from home feeling.

Coffee is also a big part of my culture as a Colombian, and it is as important to me as any other part of my identity. I genuinely enjoy what I do, I'm always open and excited to learn new things, and look towards improving whenever I can.

I believe I can bring a dependability and strong work ethic to any team, and adapt easily to new situations. I have 4 years of specialty coffee experience, and it is one of my goals to find a place I can bring authenticity and care into crafting coffee for others.

I am currently a barista and main coffee roaster at Nitro Espresso Bar Corp. My duties and responsibilities at this job are to set up and break down mobile coffee booths, with full service espresso and tea drinks, often on my own and withoit supervision. I also roast the majority of the company's espresso and pour over beans, as well as packaging and labelling them. I have been in these positions for a year with this company.

I have achieved a high school diploma.
