I graduated from NSCC's millwright program in 2018. I am currently in my fourth year of apprenticeship, working in the food manufacturing industry.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with all plant equipment.
Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Strict compliance with plant safety and food safety policies.
Rebuilding and maintaining conveyor systems; including vibrating conveyor systems.
Rebuilding and maintaining positive displacement and dynamic pumping systems.
Installing and aligning prime movers.
Performing maintenance welding (GMAW, SMAW and GTAW) and basic fabrication.
Maintaining and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Rigging and hoisting equipment.
Risk assessment, Job Safety Analysis and Hot Work reports.
Proficiency with machining equipment including lathe and milling machine.
Label, measure and notate drill core samples.
Transportation and storage of core samples from drill to mine site.
Attend site safety meetings.
Obtained blocks two and three at the same campus.
