I am a therapeutic counsellor (CCC) with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology Major) and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology. I have 12 years of experience providing therapeutic services to children, youth and families in various non-profit community settings, including residential and clinical. I have created and delivered presentations and training in areas including mental health, trauma, child & youth needs, and family relationships. I am experienced with individual and group counselling. I operate from a person-centered, culturally aware approach and I utilize techniques from various modalities including narrative, arts-based, internal family systems, and CBT.
10 years in community with children and youth who have experienced trauma and or neglect, as well as substance use issues, mental illness and behavioral challenges; Child and Youth Care Work. 3 years providing clinical/therapeutic support primarily to youth/young adults in community settings; Counselling.
