I've been in the Testing field for over 5 years, specifically in the medical device industry. Many roles that I have mastered revolve around exploratory and formal testing, creating requirements and generating test cases that touch upon said requirements, and more generally, I enjoy trying to find ways to break stuff (in a good way, of course) so that the teams that I work closely with can identify risks and/or fix those issues.
More recently, I have taken an interest in test automation, from creating automated test frameworks, to fully coding test cases. I am always looking for new challenges to tackle, and I know that, as testing is becoming more automated, I am hoping that the challenge comes soon.
Some technologies that I have used in the past are: C++/C#, Java, Python, JIRA, GIT, Jama, Confluence, N-Unit, and TestRail.
> Created test tool applications with Android to perform tests on back-end services and front-end applications.
> Utilized services such as Jira and TestRail to log and track bugs, test cases, requirements, and exploratory test notes.
> Developed test applications with Python, C# with N-Unit, Unity, and Java to progress towards an automated test suite, using GIT to control all code.
> Used electronic tools (function generator, oscilloscope, etc.) to test bio-signals products to simulate human EEG signals.
> Guaranteed full traceability between requirements and tests to ensure all requirements are tested and closed prior to release/submission to regulating bodies.
> Created test cases based on product specifications/requirements to validate and verify said requirements.
> Used tools including Jira, Jama, and Confluence to record and monitor defects, test scenarios, specifications, and observations from exploratory testing.
> Worked closely with teams in Development and Systems Engineering to ensure timely completion of cross-functional assignments, as well as communicate test activities and tasks.
> Headed the migration to automate test cases to increase efficiency during formal testing cycles.
> Produced secure Windows-based images to run applications to ensure privacy of Patient Information.
McMaster University (2011-2018)
Bachelors in Technology, Process Control and Automation Engineering
Relevant courses: Mathematics and Programming, UI/UX Design in Web Development, Robotics, Process Controls, CAD and 3D Modelling, PLC Controls
> Created an Energy Management System for Residential use. System was to switch between battery and grid power, depending on on/off peak hours for electricity use in Ontario.
> Analyzed power usage and created profiles for using power from the different sources to minimize electricity bills.
> Was in charge on integration; reading outputs from code to control physical components, while providing inputs to the code to manage the logic.
