Sandie Bean

My name is Sandie and I'm an RN with 20 years in Psychiatry and 5 in nursing homes. I live in a small town and there's just frankly not enough choice of psychiatry jobs. I moved here to be near my parents who are in their 80's. I've dedicated my life and career to Mental Health since 19 as an RPN and I still love it as an RN 30 years later. Now that I'm older, I'm looking for Part time work or casual/weekends and I love nights (I know i'm crazy…it is ok, I got this! ;) Thanks for reading my profile!

I started out in Forensic Nursing at a Psychiatric Hospital. I then worked the Crisis Unit for a few years. I returned to school to get my BScN and afterwards found myself at a Prison as the Mental Health Nurse for 760ish inmates. My nursing home experience is smattered throughout my resume and holds a special place in my heart because that is the reason I entered nursing. In high school, I had to volunteer somewhere for 30 hours. I found a nursing home where I performed basic duties and I fell in love with the selflessness the Residents gave the staff.
