My name is Satyam Kaushik, and I am currently a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a Specialist degree in Computer Science. I am interested in applying for this position because I am a highly driven and passionate student with excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. I am a goal-oriented and selfmotivated student with a good academic background.
This enables me to work hard to attain work-related goals. My various leadership positions such as being part of the student council in high school for 3 years, and being a team leader for academic, social and sports events, have strengthened my organization and problem-solving skills. These experiences have taught me to give my best under pressure.
In the past, I have done projects in C, Java, JavaScript, HTML, Assembly and Python. I have worked in teams in which I used GitHub to pull/push the updated code and have also resolved branch issues. Since I had to balance my time between schooling and my side projects, these experiences strengthened my time management skills.
My years of experience with community service and volunteering have made me sensitive and mindful of my communication with people. The internship as a Software Engineer Intern at Cargojet and Neo Casta International, strengthened my coding skills, organization skills and professionalism in a work environment. Besides my programming skills, I believe these qualities are most likely to stand out for this job position:
Communication and Sensitivity: My internships with various NGOs in India have made me a sensitive communicator and have embedded some essential life skills in me and have given me a different prospect about the world.
Professionalism and Self-Motivation: I became a part of the Prefectorial Board of my school at a very young age and kept on growing in it. Due to this, I learned to organise events, and communicate with guests, and fellow students regularly. This helped me to become a strong leader with a strong academic background.
Event and Time Management: As I was a part of the prefectorial board of my school, I’ve been organising various events like Annual Day, Sports Day, Teacher’s Day etc, in high school. This strengthened my time management, leadership, and team-building skills.
