I have recently completed the Fire Inspection & Fire Safety Advanced Diploma at Fanshawe College in London Ontario where I also completed a work placement as a Student Fire Inspection Officer. These education and experiential learning opportunities have helped me gain valuable knowledge and experience in the field
- Knowledge of fire prevention, inspection and suppression techniques, strategies, and specialized training including NFPA 1031 - Fire Inspector Level I & II, NFPA 1035 - Fire & Life Safety Educator Level I & II, NFPA 1072 - Hazardous Materials Awareness, and The Arson Prevention Program for Children (TAPP-C)
- Experience collaborating and interacting with individuals of diverse age ranges, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic levels; ability to communicate with and deliver instructions to members of the public using clear and concise language
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including recognition as an outstanding communicator, leader, team-builder, problem-solver, and decision-maker who is assertive, confident, and level-headed
Throughout my career, I have developed strong relationships and provided high levels of service. Past supervisors have commented that I am a hard-working team player who is always willing to go above and beyond what is expected. I am dedicated and reliable and have maintained a superior attendance record. In my free time, I enjoy and gain satisfaction from volunteering with local community organizations including the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs, and the Carling Heights Optimist Centre where the goal is to improve the livelihoods of families within the community. I hope to continue volunteering in the future as it provides opportunities for learning and personal and professional growth. I gain significant satisfaction from giving back to the community in which I live.
