About

Please consider my application for a part time position. I am a grade 11 student with an extensive skill set that would be an asset to this company.

I am an extremely hard working student who takes pride in my work no matter what the task is. Since starting high school I have maintained Honour Roll grades with particularly high achievements in Math, Computer Studies, English and Science. I am eager to learn, possess strong communication skills and have a sound work ethic.

I have excelled in extracurricular activities such as VEX Robotics and placed high in both the GAUSS and BEAVER Mathematics competitions. I also received the Science Award for the highest academic achievement. Knowing this position requires both strong literacy and numeracy skills as well as attention to detail and procedures, I am competent in all these areas.

I have been serving the Milton community for 5 years working as a weekly newspaper carrier demonstrating my ability to consistently meet deadlines, show responsibility, and manage time effectively. Through my volunteer work with the Elderdog Charity, I have developed excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly, courteous approach when dealing with the public and a greater understanding of the importance of community involvement.

I am confident that I would make an exceptional candidate and a valued employee.

I look forward to hearing from you, Sawyer Featherston

Experience

I have been a newspaper carrier employed by the Canadian Champion for 5 years. I was responsible for the weekly assembly and distribution of newspapers and inserts for the assigned route which was approximately 90 houses. I have demonstrated consistent and reliable community service, a courteous and friendly approach to my clients and excellent time management to meet deadlines.

I have also volunteered with the Elderdog Charity whose aim it is to keep seniors with their canine companions. I was responsible for weekly dog walks and general support for a senior in Milton who was unable to, due to mobility issues. More than just caring for her dog, I was able to provide social connection and companionshiop for a senior who lived alone. It was a valuable experience and taught me the importance of community involvement.

Education

I am a grade 11 student at Bishop Reding SS in Milton. I have always been an honour student and have always valued education. I am currently enrolled in summer school to get ahead for next year as well as I plan to go to University to pursue medicine, law or computer engineering.
