Sherwin Tiu

An enthusiastic and flexible second year electrical engineering student passionate about technology, from software to hardware. Seeking an internship position as a software or electrical engineer to further my growth in the industry. Did multiple projects and competitions through school or personal initiative on robotics, computer programs, hardware, and other topics.

I have no work experience yet, but I have done many technical projects in varying fields, most of them involve programming, while some involve scientific research and business case studies. Every project involved new concepts that I quickly learned, and some projects involved team collaboration where I was able to manage the team effectively and efficiently, through effective communications. Being flexible also significantly helped in that I can adjust workloads and things to do according to needs of the deadlines.

For many years, I have studies about using various programming languages. I have most experience with Python, followed by Arduino with relevant personal technical projects, and C. I have studied about data structures and algorithms from my most recent coursework, and have self-learned the basics of Artificial Intelligence through a Summer Mentorship Program this year and through tutorials in the Google Cloud platform.

Electrical circuitry is something I have also learned, although relatively more recently as compared to the programming aspects. However, I am very much willing to learn something new, and am not afraid to ask for help regarding certain topics. Through learning electrical circuitry, I was also able to gain experience with soldering, power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes, and have used this to reinforce my classroom learnings about concepts of electronics.
