My name is Sophie Weller, and I am an architecture co-op student at Dalhousie University. Before pursuing my Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies, I completed an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning, which informs my interest in holistic design approaches and architecture’s role in shaping resilient, community-focused spaces.
I bring a versatile skill set, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Rhino, AutoCAD, and SketchUp. I am passionate about creating thoughtful, context-driven designs that respond meaningfully to both people and place.
I have primarily worked in customer service positions, including several restaurants, bringing me strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that translate seamlessly into collaborative design environments. Additionally, I have worked with several non-profits, including the Housing Trust of Nova Scotia, where I contributed to affordable housing initiatives through outreach and communications.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies at Dalhousie University as part of the architecture co-op program. Prior to this, I completed an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning, which has given me a strong foundation in understanding community dynamics, spatial planning, and sustainable development. This combination of studies allows me to approach architecture with a holistic perspective that bridges design, context, and community needs.
