Hello! My name is Susan Liu and I am currently in my last semester of my Bachelor's degree in psychology. I am passionate about films, cinematography, production, and anything else related to storytelling and bringing voices and visions to life. I would love to someday work in the film industry and I am currently seeking a job at the entry level as a production assistant.
I am incredibly hard-working and a fast learner, and I am prepared to do anything needed for this position and beyond. I am proactive and can easily adapt to any environment, and I am not scared of working long hours and odd shifts. Whatever is asked of me, I will get done, and I hope to be able to prove that to you.
My most recent communications & coordination experience was as a Statistics Canada enumerator for the Canadian Census where I had to knock on doors or make phone calls to interview members of the Canadian population. Through this, I gained experience on how to interact with strangers and cooperate with them, as well as how to relay sensitive information. Furthermore, I joined Apathy is Boring, where I and 11 other ambassadors created a community project over the span of 3 months.
We recruited people from the Montreal population and interviewed them about gender, sexuality, and family. I worked incredibly well with the rest of my team to create a project that we were all very proud of while being organized and resourceful about everyone’s schedules and allotted budget. Additionally, before the pandemic hit, I worked as a swim instructor at the YMCA where I had to regularly maintain professional and friendly relationships with clients.
Through these experiences, I also gained key skills in adaptability and cooperation, as well as the ability to quickly learn on the job and stay organized.
I am expected to be graduating with a Bachelor's degree of Psychology in the Science Department at McGill University, Montreal, by the end of 2022.
