I am passionate about wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and conservation. I am a graduate of Sheridan College's Animal Care program, with a concentrate on Wildlife Management, and have interned at two wildlife sanctuaries - one in Northern Ontario and in Florida, USA. I have my AWR Certification from the IWRC and am currently studying to receive my Ontario Rehabilitator's License. I also spent a year in Sheridan's RVT program, where I received instruction and experience in parasitology, urinalysis, cytology, anatomy, animal health and wellness, pharmacology and veterinary mathematics. I am a motivated individual, have strong collaboration skills, and am willing to relocate from Ontario.
Throughout my three years at Sheridan College, I completed several practicum placements at both domestic animal veterinary clinics and wildlife rescues. The experience gained through these placements included animal husbandry, meal preparation, intake of animals, client communication/customer service, use of the Avimark program, health monitoring of animals, including post-surgery monitoring, use of the Autoclave, administration of medication and sub-cutaneous and intramuscular injections, assistance with veterinary procedures, and some laboratory work. These placements were then supplemented with two wildlife internships, where these same skills were applied when working with various wildlife species. Additionally, the internships required me to care for and feed neonate mammals.
