Sydney Rooplal

Sydney Rooplal is a full-time, third-year student studying public relations; bachelor of communications at Mount Royal University. Rooplal developed skills in social media management and event planning, eager to build meaningful connections between organizations and their audiences. She achieved professional experience during a work term with Airdrie Parades as a communications assistant. Rooplal created social media visuals and status posts to promote events and increase brand awareness.

In her third-year at Mount Royal University, she earned a place on the dean’s honour roll for both fall and winter semesters. Post-graduation, Rooplal would like to merge her educational and practical experience in the social media and marketing industry.

Rooplal enjoys an active balanced lifestyle. She spends her free time engaging in physical activity such as: rafting, hiking, attending the gym, tubing and skiing. With a passion for travel, she enjoys visiting new cities and abandoned places. After a long day, Rooplal unwinds by listening to podcasts and watching television series.

As a Communications Assistant with Airdrie Parades, I supported the organization’s digital presence through strategic content development and performance analysis. I created and scheduled social media posts, developed comprehensive content calendars and conducted research to inform campaign planning. I also monitored platform analytics to evaluate engagement and audience growth, using data-driven insights to strengthen overall social media performance and align content with organizational goals.
