I currently work as a Special Needs Assistant in a group home setting, where I provide daily support to two young adults with autism, non-verbal communication needs, ADHD, and high behavioral needs. In this role, I help teach foundational life skills, support problem-solving and emotional regulation, and implement consistent routines and positive behavior strategies. Although my experience has been outside of the K-12 system, I am passionate about working with students of all ages and am eager to bring my skills into a school environment.
I understand the importance of collaboration with teachers, therapists, and families to support individualized goals and accommodations. I have a strong background supporting individuals with diverse needs, including communication differences and challenging behaviors, with patience, empathy, and consistency.
