Tara Lynn Fitzgerald

I am a college student living and attending college in Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, where I am studying Engineering. I am in Vancouver for the summer, and I am planning to take a year out of college this year and to stay in Vancouver if I find a job. I am an avid field hockey player and I have two years experience working in shop and food settings. I have family in Vancouver and all over Canada and I am excited to be immersed in the Canadian culture.

I have over two years experience working in a deli. I started as a deli assistant in August 2021, where I attended to customer’s needs, by making an assortment of sandwiches, wraps, paninis, rolls and salads. I prepared the meats and salads in the deli, by cooking the meats and cutting the vegetables, while adhering to the food safety regulations.

As I became more experienced, I have become a manager and I now manage the deli every Sunday and sometimes during the week. I supervise deli staff and ensure there is enough food for the day. When I am the manager, I come in early in the morning to bake the breads and pastries and sign for the deliveries and put them away.

The jobs that are shared amongst members of the deli staff are the cleaning of the ovens, the food preparation and food storage areas. The vacuuming of the floors and the mopping of the floors.

I have over one years experience as a cashier in a grocery store. I work on the till as a cashier and sales assistant in the grocery store. I stock the food goods and other items in the store and organize the food goods according to expiration dates. I attend to customer’s needs. I am trusted to run the tills with both cash and card payments.

I am currently a student in Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. I study engineering. I have completed two years of study. I have achieved exceptional grades in my Leaving Certificate Exams completed at the end of my secondary school education.
