I have been working as a Registered Practical Nurse for 3.5 years. I completed my Diploma program in Toronto Ontario, and my final placement was on a Neurological/Stroke Unit at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare. I then soon moved up north for a job in Elliot Lake, where I was hired to the Medical Surgical Unit at St Joseph’s General Hospital.
I was oriented to the Medical/Surgical unit, Continuing Care unit, and was often pulled to Emergency to care for inpatients. I worked full time for a year, then went part time to apply for a part time Dialysis position offered on site in Elliot Lake but managed by Health Sciences North. I completed education and training at Health Sciences North for 2 weeks (but did not get a certification in venipuncture).
Then most recently I have been working for a Nursing Agency in Sault Ste Marie filling in at short staffed Long Term Care units.
Enrolled in Bachelors of Science in Nursing Bridge program.
