A listening ear with a compassionate heart to contribute towards the community has brought me to be in service towards providing a healthy and practical counselling atmosphere since 2013. Ever since I have collaborated with schools, private psychologists and physiotherapists working with issues about Psychotherapy in teenagers and adolescents as well as Psychotherapy in Marital and Couples Counseling. Currently, I am investing my time and skill sets into learning counseling ethics in alignment with the Canadian society and community at large. My approach during a session always differs to cater to the current requirement at hand ranging from an Eclectic approach to practising CBT or Psychotherapy although Solution Focused Therapy stays as a crucial component during my sessions. My educational credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology between 2010 - 2013 I further stepped up to acquire a bachelor's degree in education and serve as a Psychology Professor too. My eagerness towards excelling in my career has made me enroll in various workshops and seminars in the field of psychology and psychotherapy. Given the same, I have attended IBO workshops on Social and Emotional Learning (Cat 3) and a course on Child Psychology. On the work front, I have conducted multiple in-house workshops for students and teachers, encouraging healthy management of emotions, life skills and collegiality. I have assisted students and helped them work through anger management, supplemented them with study skills and strategies, helped them deal with anxiety and develop healthy emotional attachments. I believe my experience and passion to work with young adults, couples and family groups helps me enhance my knowledge and skills learning more each day. As a counsellor, I not only strive to help the process progress towards success and achieve the total well-being of an individual but also initiate to serve the community as a whole by instilling feelings of responsibility for one’s actions and behaviour.
