Varuni Jayasooriya

A highly ambitious, performance-driven, and team-oriented Senior Lecturer /Academic and a Sustainability Specialist with a successful track record and over 9 years of experience in research, teaching, extension, consultancy and outreach in the fields of Environmental Sciences and Engineering. My research is mainly focused on Green Buildings, Life Cycle Assessment, Decision Making for Sustainable Urban Planning, Urban Forestry and Urban Greening, Corporate Environmental Management and Sustainability, Renewable Energy Systems and Industrial Ecology. I have proven industrial, research, consultancy and teaching experience related to Environmental Sciences and Engineering, both in Australia and overseas.

I was acknowledged as one of the five finalists of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Young Woman Engineer (YWE) of the year 2021. I’m also a permanent resident of Canada.
