I am a CIMA qualified chartered accountant (UK) with over 12 years of experience working within the finance function of large organisations, including the BBC, NewsUK and L’Oreal, providing financial analysis and insight, focusing on business strategy and forward outlook, supporting and challenging investment decisions within regulated industries, and put forwards recommendations to mitigate risks. I have proven expertise in FP&A and business partnering roles, data modelling and driving efficiencies, working with global teams, building trusted relationships and effectively bring together financial and non-financial sources of information to influence decision making.

Most recently, I spent seven years with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in London, working as a Finance Business Analyst where I partnered with senior managers to advise on investment needs, address budget overspends, and drive transformational projects. I modelled complex financial data to provide insight-driven analysis that supported strategic decision-making.

I led financial planning, scenario analysis, and business case development for a major BBC News transformation project impacting 2,000 employees, helping to secure £55m in savings by 2026. I presented progress reports to executive leadership and managed two analysts to ensure project deadlines were delivered to a high standard. Notably, I also secured additional funding for war coverage during the Ukraine crisis, collaborating with Bureau Managers to build a budget from scratch for war coverage, setting up new offices and staff relocations and support in Russia and Ukraine.

During my time at the BBC, I also undertook a one-year secondment as a Planning Manager within the BBC’s TV Content division, where I managed a £300m (CAD $515m) budget. I played a key role in developing the BBC’s three-year TV schedule through strategic forecasting and financial modelling, ensuring investment was directed effectively to meet Ofcom audience and regionality quotas. Built a centralised Excel variance reporting tool for month-end, extracting data from BPC, using a single source of data to track channel spend (+3 years outlook).

This replaced 12 separate spreadsheets, improving accuracy, insight and efficiency by 75%, and eliminated the need for separate finance review meetings.

Earlier in my career, I worked at Ascential (FinTech Events) as a Financial Analyst, where I provided commercial analysis and financial modelling to support the international launch of Money20/20 China. I tracked sales pipelines, oversaw the month-end close process, and ensured accurate accounting through accruals and prepayments.

Before that, I was an FP&A Analyst at News UK (Media), where I delivered financial performance reporting for The Times and The Sun. My analysis was presented to the CFO and NewsCorp in the US. I redesigned the revenue forecast model and monthly P&Ls, enhancing accuracy and reducing the time spent on variance analysis and commentary by 60%.

I began my finance career at L’Oréal (FMCG/Beauty) as an Assistant Controller, partnering with Sales teams to deliver margin and promotional analysis, strengthening pricing and promotional strategies. I also supported the implementation of a new financial software system (BOP), mapping product codes to SAP, testing functionality, and training finance staff on the new platform.
