I am a designer who believes that visual language should have a "soul." My career is defined by a unique fusion of high-end antiquity, cultural storytelling, and theatrical collaboration:
Precision in High-End Auctioning: During my tenure at an auction house specializing in Ming and Qing dynasty antiques, I directed photography and designed catalogs for rare tea-ware and calligraphy. This taught me that "details drive value," honing my ability to capture the finest textures with a meticulous yet bold execution.
Cultural Depth in Design: My passion for tea culture and expertise as a tea sommelier allowed me to infuse Japanese teahouse branding—from menus to packaging—with authentic aesthetic inspiration and sensory depth.
Theatrical Synergy & Communication: Serving as an Assistant Director in the musical theatre industry provided me with a robust foundation in cross-functional coordination. I excel at bridging communication gaps between diverse departments to bring complex creative visions to life.
My diverse background has granted me a distinctive aesthetic sensitivity and the versatility to thrive in any creative field. I am eager to apply my multidisciplinary expertise to new, innovative design challenges.
I’ve spent about two-thirds of my life living and breathing art. With six years of professional fine arts training through high school, things like the delicate touch of pastels and the 'less is more' philosophy of ink wash painting are basically in my DNA.
When I studied Theatre Design in university, it was a total game-changer for me. I realized that beauty doesn’t have to stay on a flat canvas—it lives in spaces, lighting, and how a story is told. It taught me to catch those tiny, everyday moments and turn them into design inspiration.
After over a decade of practicing art, I’ve developed a bit of a dual perspective: I look at details with the eye of a classical artist, but I plan the big picture like a stage designer. I love being a 'soulful designer' and am always excited to jump into new fields and see where my creativity can take me.
