pbBackend Python Developer – 6877 /b /p pOur client is a leading Swiss multinational healthcare company headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. Operating in Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics, it is one of the world’s largest biopharmaceutical companies and a global leader in in-vitro diagnostics and cancer treatments. /p pWe are looking for a Backend Python Developer on a contract basis until the end of 2026. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week onsite in Basel. /p pThe assignment will be for the Computational Sciences Center of Excellence (CS-CoE) organization in Basel. The client is conducting “Target Evaluator” project focusing on the implementation of the requirements from the project. The project is integrating select open-source multi-agent systems towards a comprehensive, unbiased ranking framework for new target proposals. /p pThe perfect candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Bioinformatics, or equivalent professional experience. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of Python programming, 3+ years of REST API design experience, and excellent English communication skills. /p pbMain Responsibilities /b /p liProvide agile software development services for the “Target Evaluator” project according to the project plan. /li liProvide technical consulting services to support the project team. /li liDevelop and implement robust backend functionalities that meet defined business needs /li liDesign and implement APIs for the "Target Evaluator" /li liIntegrate with other applications, working out technical details independently with other teams /li liResearch and apply new data processing and analysis techniques /li liImprove quality through performance evaluation, implementation of testing strategies, and tooling /li pbQualifications and Experience: /b /p libRelevant Swiss working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required /b /li liBachelor/Master degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, Information Systems, or Bioinformatics is preferred. Candidates with extensive professional experience in the field can also be considered. /li liPython programming (5+ years) /li liExperience in REST API design (3+ years) /li liSome experience in ML engineering in e.g. life sciences /li liExperience in CI/CD using GitLab /li liExperience in GitOps /li liExperience in Kubernetes for hosting of services /li liExperience in implementing user interfaces /li liWorking in HPC environments /li liKnowledge of LLMs and LLM-based multi agent frameworks /li liExcellent communication skills in fluent English, both written and verbal /li liStrong collaborative approach and a desire to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment. /li liProactive and analytical mindset for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues. /li liHigh adaptability and a commitment to quickly learning new technologies and methodologies to meet evolving project needs and priorities. /li
