## About the Role

Astrafy is seeking a Looker Engineer / BI Engineer to work across business and technical data projects, helping customers unlock the value of their data. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, define KPIs and dashboard structures, and build scalable data models and Looker solutions.

The role combines Business Intelligence, data modeling, SQL, Google Cloud, dbt, LookML, ETL pipelines, and data visualization, with opportunities to contribute to knowledge sharing and thought leadership.

## Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives.
• Challenge and refine requirements to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Analyze client databases and assess available data.
• Conduct stakeholder workshops to define and validate KPIs.
• Design dashboard structures and visualizations using Looker, Miro, or Figma.
• Build and refine data models using BigQuery and dbt.
• Develop LookML models to transform and structure data.
• Create flexible data models that support custom reporting and data exploration.
• Ensure dashboards and reports provide clear, intuitive, and usable data presentations.
• Leverage AI-driven solutions to improve user experience.
• Support end-to-end ETL pipeline design and implementation.
• Work with Git and modern data engineering workflows.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and the data community.
• Write technical or industry articles to share insights, expertise, and innovations.

## Required Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise-grade BI tools, including Looker or Data Studio.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions.
• Good understanding of dbt.
• Experience with dbt and Git.
• Good understanding of end-to-end ETL pipeline design and implementation.
• Strong data visualization skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on quality.
• Analytics-driven and solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent in English and French.

## Preferred Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Looker and LookML.
