Java Developer

pWe are opening a bJava Developer /b position to strengthen our client’s team based in Geneva. The role is focused on a business-critical fee and pricing application within a demanding banking environment, combining software engineering, production support, and application ownership. A key aspect of the position will be ensuring a structured knowledge transfer from the current Java developer and securing the application’s long-term maintainability and operational continuity. /ph3Job Responsibilities /h3ulliTake ownership of the fee and pricing application and drive a structured knowledge-transfer process with the current Java developer. /liliDesign, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot. /liliBuild and enhance REST and SOAP interfaces, including API specifications and documentation with OpenAPI/Swagger. /liliContribute to operational and administrative user interfaces using Vue.js or Angular when required. /liliManage integrations with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server using JPA/Hibernate, SQL, PL/SQL, and Liquibase. /liliMaintain and improve CI/CD processes based on Git, Maven, and YAML pipelines, including automated testing and quality controls. /liliProvide production support by investigating incidents, addressing performance issues, and improving application stability, deployment, and rollback procedures. /liliDocument architecture, business rules, dependencies, operational procedures, and runbooks while collaborating closely with development, QA, security, platform, and business teams. /li /ulh3Job Requirements /h3ullib7 to 15 years of professional software engineering experience /b, including hands-on experience supporting production applications. /liliStrong expertise in bJava 8 or later /b, ideally Java 17, with solid knowledge of bSpring and Spring Boot /b. /liliProven experience designing and maintaining bREST/SOAP APIs /b, with knowledge of HTTP and OpenAPI/Swagger. /li liGood command of bOracle and Microsoft SQL Server /b, including JPA/Hibernate, SQL, Liquibase, database performance, and basic PL/SQL. /li liPractical experience with bGit, Maven, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing /b, particularly JUnit 5, Mockito and Cucumber. /li liGood understanding of bapplication security and software quality practices /b, including OAuth2/OIDC, Kerberos and OWASP principles.
