Software Engineer

As our first software engineer, you’ll be directly responsible for shaping the user-facing experiences that our customers rely on daily. This is a hands-on, full-stack role where you’ll bring new product features to life end-to-end, from backend architecture to polished front-end experiences, while establishing the technical patterns that will scale with our growth

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack product features across TalSource
• Collaborate closely with Product to scope requirements and translate them into technical implementations.
• Own projects end-to-end: backend services, APIs, data flows, and front-end interfaces.
• Establish engineering patterns and best practices that ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability as the product evolves.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making across the team.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience building software in a team in a professional environment
• Must have shipped code to production and worked on both successful and failed projects
• Can recognized good code when you see it – you have opinions formed by experience tempered by pragmatism
• TypeScript or JavaScript proficiency / Git
• Builder personality with an eye for product. Ideally, you’ve been coding long before you got your first job
• Excited to work with LLMs and an understanding of how to build AI based web applications
• Ability to work autonomously but also as part of the team
• Willing and able to take the risk of working for an early-stage startup
